    Mauser metal work finish....

Looking for any info regarding the Finish on the Mauser K98icon, I,m building up a K98 from an CE 41 action, have all the other bits new barrel wood work etc, its a build mainly for using the .22 conversion kit I have, thought I,d add a scope too so will be killing two birds with one stone so to speak.

I,ve read somewhere that they were blue dipped rather than rust blued ?

Did any complete or parts ever get parkerised later or at the end of the War?

Both Germanicon Luger specialists Kornmeyer and Görtz mentioned that the transition in Luger production from DWM in Berlin to Mauser Oberndorf meant the end of rust blueing. From then on, chemical dip blueing was the standard practice for all Mauser products (and the attractive rust blue formula used by DWM was lost!)

Parkerizing is seen on 1945 rifles. A 1941 Mauser is all blued.
