    30 Round GI Magazines

I been picking up some 30 Rounder Mags lately and out of the 14 I have bought only 5 or 6 were GI Surplus. I see so many aftermarket ones and have gotten a couple that work well, but the rest are junk. I came across this page while doing some research to find GI 30 Round mags and what to look for. I finally got Lucky and found 3 Hardbacks with a Original Pouch, but what this guy is showing and illustrating do they look right to you. I know the hardback he's showing is fine, but what about the other he's Showing. Thank You for any Input.

Note: You can read from the beginning or Scroll just about halfway down and when you see the Mags that's where it all Starts on GI Surplus. Thank You

Are these mil spec quality m1 carbine magazines?

That is a good photo series, I will have to compare mine when I have the chance.

I have a 30 rounder that came with my used carbine that I suspect is a commercial repro but it works well enough for me, a 30 round magazine that is pinned to only accept 5 rounds isn't really taxing the follower spring much.

Frank, The CTD one is not a hardback. I skimmed post #14 and believe everything pictured there is accurate. I have the same mags he shows and will check them when I get time. - Bob

Jim, I took your advice and looking for help. These Mags pop up and sometimes by the angles it's hard to tell. I still think you can find some good GI Mags out there only if what I posted was seen as about right. I passed up on some and have bought some, but these can be deceiving or hard to find if you don't know what to look for. Thanks for the help.

    Frank
