Around here, besides the Military Aviation Museum, I am surrounded by the largest collection of military bases in the world. We've got Langley AFB, NAS Norfolk, Master Jet Base Oceana, NAF Fentress, two coast guard air bases, plus a bunch of civil and commercial aviation fields. Something is always going over. For the last few days it has been some Naval air group or groups doing work-ups at Naval Auxiliary Field Fentress. Fentress is where crews practice carrier landings before proceeding to qualifying for onboard landngs just before deployment. We'll hear the afterburner takeoffs out east at Master Jet Base Oceana where they are based and soon after we start hearing the afterburner takeoffs and touch-and-goes at Fentress. Fun stuff!

Took the boss lady and the daughter out to the Airport for lunch, pleasant enough day, they tell me you pom's have gifted us a Vampire and another Mustang.
Eyeballing the hanger, I think we are going to need a bigger one.......then maybe you can send that Vulcan that you lot seem to be wasting.

Things are stepping up this year, that P51 arrived, also a Spitfire fuselage to be part skinned as a construction display, the Vampire is still on it's way and things are building for another Airshow in March next year.

I will be out at the Airport for the unveiling of the assembled Mustang on Anzac Day, so I will have some update pic's for you......in the meantime here is one courtesy of Hunter Fighter Collections.

You are a lucky guy! I am fascinated by the T-28 Trojan because it is considered the most complicated single-engine plane to fly. My Civil Air Patrol squadron had one.
