The Birds are out and about.

It's easy to tell it's April, the Local Warbird Museum starts dragging out planes in preperation for Anzac Day.
Watched a couple buzzing around this morning, decided to grab my camera and take a ride out to the Airport for a few shots.

Well thats all I bloody well got......a few shots, stupid camera said "Memory Full" so only got one plane in before driving back into town.

Will give it another go another day, the boys will be playing for the next three weeks.

    Thumbs up P-51

When I lived in Pennsylvania I went to a local airshow and was observing one of those birds, The pilot walked right up, asked me to stand back climbed inside ,lit it off, taxied and split. Like it was nothing. The next day I was bush hogging a bottom and stopped the tractor to take a break. I heard this horrendous noise looked up and watched the same guy barrel roll through the valley at about 250'. right overhead. I cant imagine what it would be like to be on the business end of that thing. Wow! talk about cam overlap and high octane fuel for a hobby.

World War 2 Fighter Aviation, to the gear head and hothodder you gave Nitrous Oxide, Supercharger, and Turbochargers, and we thank thee.

It should come as no surprise that I own a few Mustangs, and a Lightning, and have applied various forms of forced induction at all.

I had no idea there was an operational Boomerang fighter still about. If that's what it is. Have very few ancient photographs and a profile painting in memory from probably 15-20 years back at best.

There is only the one CA 19 MHY, privately owned, the other CA 13 MHR is in the Temora Air Museum but I am pretty sure it is not airworthy.

If its the ghost, i saw it about 5 months ago at the Army Air Aviation museum at Oakie. They said then it was not airworthy and needed some major overhaul before it could legally fly again
