Yeah I've just had a quick look at a number of like stamps in my photos and there's minor inconsistencies with all of them. There's no HT's among them but a dozen or more post war refurbs and No2 MkIV conversions that were marked the same.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). No.1 MKIII* H.T.

My No.1 MKIII* H.T. (short bracket) rifle, serial no. 45318, has the same "R/MA" markings over "7 / 45" date and is in the same condition as the pictured rifle. My assumption was the 7/45 date was the date the rifle was sent to stores.
I would be interested to know how many N.1 MKIII* H.T. rifles are in the U.S. A good friend owns a short bracket rifle and I have a medium bracket rifle serial no. 46571 with cheek-piece. All three of these rifles have matching scopes.

Hello Tom. My survey spreadsheet now has info on just over 200 rifles (including yours) and from those that I know of, I can say there is at least 18 in the US. That figure is just under 9% of the survey responses, so I suppose it wouldn't be a stretch to say possibly as many as 9% of the total production? That would put the number at about 140.... Hmmmm... probably no way of ever knowing for sure.
