What, where & when? For my sporterized Mauser

This is a .270 purchased ~29 years ago. There is no manufacturer stamp anywhere, just numbers and what appear to be proof marks. Does anyone have any ideas, based on the pictures? Do the proof marks tell anything?

The number pattern on the barrel & receiver is: xxxx . xx .

But it's not. It's the post-1931 Czech proofmark for rifled barrels. The twin tail of the "cat" is distinctive.

The Czechs made plenty of Mauser 98 systems in 7x57, a much more likely original caliber in Europe than .270, so a careful measurement of bore diameter and chamber dimensions would be advisable. Of course, it may have been rebarreled/rechambered to .270, but it wouldn't hurt to check. - Think of the 6.5 Carcanos that were rechambered and marketed as 6.5 Mannlicher-Schönauer.

Please post better photos of the numbers and any other markings. The caliber should be marked somewhere on the barrel.
