Educate me on these two Mausers?

I am looking to buy a Mauser Rifle. Always wanted a K98icon, but never found one I could afford. The first rifle is listed as a Yugo M48 Mauser and the Second is listed as a Yugo Model 98 Mauser. The Yugo Model 98 Looks more like the K98. Stock is more like a K98.
The rifles are both Yugo, but I don't understand the stock difference and if these are the same rifles just one is in a different stock? Is one an original German K98 that was refurbished and remarked in Yugoslaviaicon after the war? or are they both factory made in Yugoslavia? As you can tell, I am new to Mauser's. Which would be more collectable? and What a fair price on each?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. The 98 is a refurbished German K98icon with the markings scrubbed. The M48 is a newly built rifle.

The 98's will generally be much more worn than their M48 counterparts because the M48's spent most of their lives in storage.

Not sure that either is collectible TODAY but that can change quickly. If you want one to shoot, the M48 would probably be the better of the two. If you are more history oriented or have a future desire to re-enact, the 98 would be the better of the two.

Prices are obviously based on condition and so long as one isn't a Mitchels Mauser, should be anywhere from $200-$400. The 48 should have sling, ammo pouches, bayonet with it.

Of course if you want to become a serious collector of mausers, you need both.

I have owned both. The 48 is a better shooter. You can reload your own ammo to get better performance from both. They can both be a little brisk in the recoil dept.
