I may watch that auction just to see what it finally goes for.

The video said that the .276 was pretty comparable to the 6.5 Carcano and the 6.5 Jap rounds. Very pleasant to fire, due to reduced recoil.

It's been a while since I read Mr. Canfield's book. Is this the rifle that was approved, but General McArthur wanted one that would fire the 30.06?

Disregard the question, I just watched the video.

.276 Pedersen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Surprisingly the .276 Petersen fires a 7mm .284 bullet, and the case is 51 mm long, same as .308.
The .308 has greater case capacity, however.

A 7mm-08 Remington has more velocity and power than the .276 Petersen, but similar downrange energy and trajectory, even with lighter bullets.
    Sounds like an experiment!
