“It will not reduce any noise its a replica.”
I would bet it does reduce the noise a little.
Here it would be classified as a real suppressor.

There is a formula for the length of the silencer in relation to its diameter and something else that I won't bother you with.......... But so said, you can put a pop bottle over the end of a small calibre rifle or the 6.5 and 7.65mm pistols and it will greatly reduce the noise. Real suppressor Vince? Better not tell our alice-in-wonderland-modplod police, or they'll be seizing pop bottles soon

Here in Canada, perhaps the wisest way to have a simulated suppressor is to have the barrel pass through, end to end.
A non-restricted barrel must exceed 18 1/2". A semi auto Sten with a barrel that long, and a casing over it, is a strange beast indeed. Really ungainly.

You know how they classify stuff, Peter. To them a receiver (body) with no other working parts is classified as a gun. (Can you imagine someone trying to rob a bank with just a receiver?) They use the same “logic”, if you can call it that, with suppressors.
It needs a thermal sleeve.
