Front, with cylinder held forwards. Must be between .002" and .018" on each chamber

As a matter of interest to No2 revolver owners, we had a whole display case dedicated to the old trusty No2 revolver. Including a skeltonised one, sectioned bodies showing the material differences between the marks of revolvers and parts and the Albion variants. We also had an Australian Howard made one that an Officer brought back from Imphal. But gave it to the relevant Regimental museum.

The first Albion revolvers were simply engraved ALBION - GLASGOW over the date over No2 Mk1*

Great little pistol. I carried one for a couple of years. Mind you, when you're just 20 or so, it looked and probably felt a bit more comforting and better than it was! Give it 3 lots of double taps and think of me 25-5........

Peter, does the EMER cover anything on the Webley Mark IV .38/200? I know these guns are only visual cousins, but apparently the "War Finish" versions did see some use. Were these Webleys referred to at all in official pubs and manuals, or were they the red headed step child and never spoken of?

I did get a copy of "The Webley Service Revolver" by Robert Maze, and while it covers the Mark 6 well, the Mark 4 .38/200 is hardly mentioned.

There WAS an official EMER for the Webley Mk4 in service but it was as a supplement to the Enfield No2 EMER (EMER SA&MG B-160 to 169). There were no Webleys in service while I was in (just Enfield No2's and Browning No2's - that caused some confusion as you can imagine!) but the Singapore Police had them so we did see them as they had a couple of ex REME Armourers working/living there that we knew. The RUC had them in NI to start with too. I suppose that under the skin they were just the same as our old Enfield clunkers. I just felt comfortable with mine

So what the hell is an EMER? The great search feature gave me the answer. A fine drawing of the No.2 Mk1, and a post re: stopping power of the .38 S&W as well.
