    Nice Rifle

I came across this M16icon while searching for a particular one and thought this would be pretty nice to own one just like it. Does anyone know what type of furniture this is and has anyone here had one like this ?

Frank, It is like the original brown bakelite furniture used on the original AR15, the 1960 Model 601. Original sets in good condition are about $1,000 just for stock, grip, and handguards. Usually they are found painted an odd OD green. That particular weapon looks like a mid-length carbine build with mid-length made up handguards.

I can't afford it its way too much money for me. I did see some different characteristics on it, but I was looking on the M-16 For Sale Website and it showed up. To me it looks Real Nice. Jim (Bar) did mention that it's bakelite, but was wondering if someone here has had this before. I did find some unfinished Furniture for a Russianicon Saiga that I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy and give it a shot.

I have a set of Afromasia Grips on one of my CZ 75 9mm and the grain pattern looks Very Nice.

No Frank, I said it was Fibrite. The originals were dressed in brown Fibrite. Later they painted it green and then black. I had the AR that it came on and only needed the pistol grip to make it complete. I left it in the care of an individual and when he decided we were done he kept it. Too bad...

I see traces of paint on the front of your handguard too, I had a h*ll of a time stripping mine. Very tough paint.
