    Picked this GEW88 rifle upover weekend?

    Picked this GEWicon 88 rifle up over the weekend. Not sure what calibre it is wood is in nice shape.finish is real deep blue glossy, marked 1890 AIBERG NOT SURE IF THAT IS RIGHT.

    It's a Turk replacement bolt. Probably Turkishicon numbers on the rear sight also. Should be 8mm, has the S marking but Turk bores vary in size so should be checked before you shoot it. Glossy finish probably not original.

    I thought the receivers where in the white(not blued) on these??

    I have an 1891 AMBERG 88

    They were originally, however I believe they were blued when converted to the 88/05 standard (and if not then when the Turkishicon received them, I haven't seen any non-Turkish 88/05s to compare... yet)

    They were not blued when the 05 conversion was done . That is not Turk bluing as it is way to shiny .
