    OT Empty nest syndrome

My wife and I saw my son off to the Army today. Felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest. 19 years seems too short a time now.
He's gonna be a paratrooper just like his father and grandfather. We're really proud of him.

    Bear,

I'm sure your mother told you your misspent youth would catch up to you one day!

God Bless you and your son for the things you taught him.

Seems we have all had a "mis-spent youth" to some degree. God Speed, May a fair wind and a following sea follow in his wake.

    Bear,

God bless you and your son. It is hard to see your children leave the "nest" no matter where they are going. Please thank him for his service - thank you for your service!

Bear, the nest may be "empty" at this time for you and your wife, but you have raised an eagle and not a sparrow. Best wishes, Ric

You have lived long enough to know how your dad felt when you went in harm's way. Every day until he returns will be a study in pride and pain for you. Thank him and his dad for all of us and the one's that did not return. Regards, Clark

I'd shake you & your son's hand if I could reach through the computer. Thanks to you for your service and thanks to your son for his. Our son went in the Navy almost four years ago.
