    More Norwegian Pistols

Here are the Lefauxcheaus. The regular Norwegianicon M 1864.

    Then the M1864/98.

These are both marked with the Lion, but the photos didn't work, so you'll just have to believe me.

Here is a perfect, complete M64/98 that's in a museum somewhere.

Cuts for the additional top strap on my pistol---

I am going to complete the 64/98 if I have to hire the local genius/machinist---and it seems likely I will.

    Nagants next.

    M1893 7.5mm Norwegianicon Nagant.

You can see the chattered Lion just behind the hammer.

This pistol was blue but most of the finish is worn off. Still there on the triggerguard and in the recesses cut into the cylinder.

Marks. I forgot to shoot the Liege Proof on the cylinder, but it's there.

    The sleeved conversion to .22lr.

The rear of the cylinder, showing the sleeves.

The pistol seems to be sighted beyond 25 meters, which is difficult for me, as I cannot see the sights for spit.

What are the differences or upgrades from the 1864 to the 1864/98? What about the .22 conversion, did the military do this for some reason or is it a civilian modification? I have owned a Swedishicon Nagant, is there a difference in the Norwegianicon version? I am pitifully ignorant of Scandinavian weapons, sorry for what may be simplistic questions to very interesting arms. Tom

The difference between the Lefaucheaux '64 and '64/98 is the top strap addition, as far as I can tell. There are at least two types of top strap and two types of front sight.

I don't know who did the .22 conversion.

I too have owned a Swedishicon 7.5 Nagant, made by Husqvarna in my case. The only difference between it and this Belgian made Norwegianicon is that the Swede wouldn't index and spit lead sideways.
