Would be interesting to watch at a distance to see exactly what happened if a ball round was loaded into one of those. Would it fit? Would it just go into orbit when fired, maybe take one but not two? Interesting old collector piece for sure. A Japaneseicon collection wouldn't be complete without examples of all of the training rifles, pole bayonets...a Bacca bomb...
    Regards, Jim

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I don't think I'm going to try testing it. It is a smoothbore and Pretty sure a cartridge will fit as I believe their blanks were the same size. I have a Type 30 smoothbore also that just had the rifling drilled out and a blanks only stamping on the receiver. It's not complete unfortunately, just a barreled action with a few other pieces. Stock has been impossible to find to date.

No, of course not. A standard stock won't fit?
