A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Those should sell well. I've owned and reloaded for an original sporter Lee in 236, owned a Johnson rifle...but haven't handled a Pedersen. Those are unheard of up here. Just as well too, we'd end up prohibiting them and make the guy turn it in...that one's about mint. Considering trial rifles were used to destruction, that makes them far more scarce. How much for those?
    Regards, Jim

Please correct me if I have any of this information wrong, but I recall that Vickers used the 276 cal semi auto Pedersen rifle to guard their plant during WW2. After WW2 these Vickers Pedersen rifles were imported to
the USAicon on the surplus market. I do not think there were a lot of rifles imported but I do remember them around and available but expensive. RCS

I think you might be talking about the Japaneseicon Pedersen. From what information I have gathered, they only made 200-250 of these rifles. Most of them were destroyed after the testing against the Garandicon.
Not sure of the prices, I need to do more research for real world value. The prices I have seen so far are Pedersen....$17,500-$22,000.....Navy, $3,000-$3,800.....Johnson.....$6,300-$7,300

They are beautifully made guns, but I question the "intestinal fortitude" of the firers (especially after a mud trial)... with that giant trebuchet flinging debris backwards with every shot...

Some existing info on Pederson rifle variations:
