Gorgeous Carbine stock on Ebay - Cherry?

Not mine. Saw it, and thought I would share. He speculates it may be cherry wood. I had a cherry wood Carbine stock years ago, and it did look similar, though mine was a little redder, IIRC. If I hadn't just picked up a really nice Walnut M2 potbelly stock top put my 6 digit Inland 1950s rebuild in, I would have grabbed this one. It is gorgeous. Do you guys think it is cherry? It could be birch with an odd stain, I guess. I am not a wood expert by any stretch!

I believe it to be birch, however, that is a beautiful stock and if you are in need.....

I agree it's birch, it still had light in it and cherry wouldn't I think. I think also it may have a True-oil finish. Don't think that's a military oil or BLOicon. Nice anyway.

    Here's a cherry M1icon butt...by comparison.

Not a wood expert either, but looks like birch. Looks like one of mine, an SA marked m2 birch stock with RRA rebuild and square P.

I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that is a birchwood stock. I can even tell whoever, used rattle can spray semigloss Lacquer as the top coat and didn't sand between coats.

Looks to have been carved or shaped a bit in the grip area as well.

Looks very similar to a birch M2 stock I have made by SA.
