    Looking for a No4 Mk1 T

I've been looking to purchase a No4 Mk1 T since posting the thread about my dad's reunion with one. I thought I might have found one a while back, but the knowledge of the guys on the forum showed it was not an original. It was a Savage in the 17C series. I have now briefly seen a Savage in the 0C series, 0C46xx, but don't want to ask the owner for photos, unless there's a strong possibility it's original. I know I will be asked to post photos at some stage, but if the response is, there were no T's in this number range, there's not much point in taking it further. Thanks in anticipation.

Ian, Savage 4T's do exist in the 0C4XXX range. However, & as you surmised, we'll need more than the serial number to determine whether or not it is legit. Can you get those photo's?

Hi Roger, thanks for the response, I fully expected the request for photos. From your comments, it does seem the T could be authentic which means I can go ahead and request or take some photos myself if the owner is happy for me to do so. He did say when I saw it that he had carried out research and was satisfied it was authentic.
Snipershot1944 and Cinders, the T you referred to is in the US and I'm in the UKicon. I suspect it would be very difficult to get it from the States to the UK. Many thanks to all of you, will post the photos as soon as I can.

    There are also known Savage snipers in the 0Cx (0C1 is a famous example) thru 0Cxxx, 4Cxxxx, 7Cxxxx, 13Cxxxx, 14Cxxxx, 15Cxxxx so I don't think 17C would be improbable.

I might part wih either of my two Indian reworked No. 4 T rifles if those are of interest to you. And they are located in Europe. If you want to stay in the UKicon with your search, you might give this dealer a try who currently does list original No. 4 T snipers for sale: Full Bore, Service and Sniper Rifles for Sale - Devizes Gunsmith

The export process to the UKicon from the USAicon is not too bad but does require some effort and costs some money. You should contact spikedd who's a frequent visitor here. He has a very nice all matched No.4T for sale. There's a thread full of photos here and comments too if someone knows how to resurrect it. Give him a PM and see.
