We have one particular dealer here in Canada who with the help of a German based gunsmith, has ruined Garand parts and is selling dangerous rifles to the public. He has been notified of the hazardous conditions and yet still advertises them for sale.

Check out this thread first for a laugh, then it spirals into criminal endangerment. If you know of anyone who may have purchased one of these rifles tell them to check it over thoroughly or send it back for a refund.

Considering the topic is about a dealer's practice who advertises (not here) and sells on another completely different web site, and the thread posted here simply contains a link redirecting everyone to the thread posted on that site which can't even be viewed unless one registers there, this forum is most appropriate to the primary topic.

Having said that, if you'd taken the time to check, you would have noticed that the thread appears in both forums simultaneously.

When a thread gets moved, it leaves a permanent trailing link in the originating forum where it came from. So, it's effectively the same as making a duplicate copy of the same post in another forum, which actually gives more members the opportunity to view and interact with it, posting in the single thread resulting from the move. It's like leaving a bookmark in the current forum for reference, which everyone will see and the when clicked on, it takes them to the full thread view.

I often use a thread move or thread copy to show content that has interesting value across multiple forum topics. If you are posting a thread that you'd like to see viewed across two forums at the same time, simply let a moderator know and they'll set up the move and flag for you.

Welding on the lugs of the bolt with no attempt to properly refinish the work is indicative of the quality of the craftsman. Making no mention of the safety issues, why wouldn't someone go to the extra length to conceal the work by refinishing the pieces, the product just looks ineptly put together.

It looks worse than basement smithy work, even Khyber Pass items have the obvious problems concealed.

To those who are not members of that forum, here is a bit more information about those rifles. It shows something that could be a problem should any barrels like these ever find their way onto the US marketplace, especially if those barrels get forced onto a receiver. The pictures and video I've seen of those bolts are VERY scary to me.

Aren't there laws on exporting sub standard in this case potentially flawed rifles what come back does a buyer have if one grenades on them at the range.

Thank you for that link, the entire situation is quite a dangerous mess, I am passively in the market for an M1 Garand, and am very happy I didn't bother with these ones.
