Absolutely agreed. Same as our FN C2. Just an overweight rifle.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. If you have ever been on the wrong end of an RPD you will never forget the sound and rate of fire in the first few moments. Close and dynamic was the doctrine.
MJ, don't take this personally, but that's crap.

Red face Chi Com Type 53

I had a chance to buy a Chi com Type 53 that was brought back by a US Special Forces advisor, it was found inside an underground VC hospital, and it was in rough condition

he said he would take $50 , but I didnt buy it, I wished I would have bought it now.

    Thumbs up

I liked the RPD. I had a near new chicom and would have carried it on one operation, but only had 1 drum so left it in my hootch. Wish I could have brought it home, but they wouldn't permit it.
    Here are my bring backs.

    Attachment 75578

I have trophy papers for all but the AK. it has 68 Amnesty papers. The browning HP is the one I carried while in country, registered it as a war trophy so I could bring it home. The Makarov & 2 SKSs were also brought back by me.

We almost never saw any LMG's in the Delta Region. Lots of AK's and I must say 30-50 troops armed with AK's could lay down a real base of fire. When I went through the Advisor School in-country the school had the 1st Inf. Div. museum. Lots of MG34's and MG42's. Glad I didn't see any in combat. The 1st Div sent that museum back to Ft. Carson and ATF made them return it to RVN. LONG story.

Nope, just as I brought it back - lots of minor freckling from being wet in a canvas/web holster on one trip out in the rainy season. Carried it in a GI leather holster after that!
