Winchester model 52

Just picked up a Winchester model 52 built in 1947. It is missing the magazine release plunger, magazine plunger release spring and the magazine plunger spring stop. I have been on the PC for two days and have learned that a Win M69A parts like that may work. Any feedback? It also came with two extra bbls. ONe an Eric Johnson bull bbl. 5 star built 081948 and an orig. Win m52 bull bbl. 26 1/2 " in length.Need what the bbls. are worth. Both are in good cond. Tks.

Talked to friend who has a 52 B, C and D. If you have a heavy barrel it probably is a D?? He told me the D has a heavy wide stock to accommodate the barrel and doesn't think parts from a M69A will fit. The release on a D is much longer than a 69 however if you have a B or C that might make a difference. Figure out what model it is as possibly he might be able to help find you parts if it is anything other than a D.

According to him D parts are like rocking horse poop, hard to find and your only hope might be Brownells or Numrich.

The 52D did not have provisions for a magazine. It also was not put on the market until 1961. I own a 52D. The 52C with the micromotion trigger was introduced in 1951. The receiver should be marked with the model letter. I have an old parts catalog and the 52C parts carry an entirely different Winchester part number from the 69

You are right, checked back with my friend and the D is only a single shot. Told me, "They “were” a great rifle until the Germans introduced the Anschutz match 54 , Feinwerkbau and Walther introduced their offerings which were just a little bit better and more user friendly due to stock adjustability".
