A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. The bottom of the oiler slot looks as if it has been enlarged by 3 rough cuts with a 1/4" chisel.

Not sure just got into collecting carbines have two, QHM and this Underwood still learning a lot. Not sure about the oiler slit I just figured someone did not know how to remove it and was trying to pry it out from the wrong side. Trying to figure out if it's a put together or the real thing. Just took the trigger housing apart and it looks like it has the correct parts for a underwood. But that's why I am hear trying to learn from those whose know,I could be completely wrong about what I see.
