New member in need of L41a1 IWS mount

    Hi guys,
New to the forum but I can see from past posts this is the place to be - I`m in need of the L42a1 IWS mount, real or repro, anyone know where I can get one?

    Thanks, Dan.

    Dan,

The chances of a real one are slim, repro ones were available not so long ago but think they have dried up, only a certain number were produced IIRC.
For anyone interested IWS box's are available on ebay at present....

Some very high quality repro's were recently produced in Canadaicon by one of the regular posters on this forum. I am sure if he has any left he will let you know. However, when I last spoke with him he was down to his last few.

I four of the "J-rails" left. The CNC machinists promised to make up the lacking STANAG rails: the other piece of the mount, but the reality is that they are now too busy for such things I hear. So, I guess a rail or two are available, but that's about it.

If you could obtain the original drawing or a sample mount to copy, I suppose you could complete one of these. Some bloke from SE Asia dropped in right at the end of my run on eBay and was obviously looking for one to copy, but he was too late. Someone else just inquired by PM and this is what I suggested.

I suppose I could look into having some done in SE Asia, but there have been very few inquiries since the stock was exhausted.

Big Thanks to Surpmil, items picked up yesterday, the only defect on the one you mentionioned (that I can visually see) is the machine finish on one of the them and would probably take it below tolerance when cleaned up. Also a big thanks to Peter as I can now machine the missing bits....

Be some time as I've a little project on for another member, which will probably test my patience (not the member just the work involved).

Very nice. Before coming here I'd never even heard of anyone making these pieces.
    Regards, Jim
