Canadian Long Branch swift training rifle target stand.

I am looking for a target stand for the Canadianicon Long Branch Swift training rifle. A Britishicon one may do, but the Long Branch will fit my rifle. Thanks for the help.

Does it have to be original? I ask because there was some discussion here a few years ago and someone had the drawings and made a VERY good replica. Even used old wood and 'aged' it. Incidentally, they made the rifles not 5 miles from where I live

If you're speaking of the "Aiming Rest Tripod", I may be able to help. I'll have to see if I have enough parts to assemble one for you.

It just dawned on my that it's the target frame you're seeking?

    Brian,
I'm not sure what an "Aiming Rest Tripod" is. We plan to use this rifle at the Aviation Cadet World and let folks try it out to see what training our guys went through in Canadaicon and Great Britain. So, we need all the parts to make it a viable display. I have some original Britishicon targets that I will copy and use for "hole punching".

    Dear Peter,
Thank you so much for your response. It does not have to be original as I plan to use it for an interactive display here at Aviation Cadet World. I have some original British targets that I plan to copy and use them for “hole” poking. That’s very interesting that they made them so close to you. I am also looking for .280 Ross loading dies, forming dies etc. if you happen to run across them.
    Thanks again,

If you place a WTB here in the appropriate forum they will likely appear.

It's the target frame you're after. I don't have any here. I do have some Swift trainers but sold the only complete one, (Britishicon), I had several years ago. There must be a plan for making one someplace. I don't think an original will be too easy to find but I could be wrong.

For the .280 Ross dies Buffalo Arms in Idaho has RCBS in stock for $148.64. They have brass as well, pricey but its such a fine cartridge.

I am aware of two types of stands. A full size walk up made from maybe fourxfour posts. One was at the Nottingham Pattern Room. I don't know if Leeds has it now.

Shown are illustrations of a folding stand associated with Long Branch. Dimensions can be calculated by using law of proportions given the known length of a swift rifle.

Scans are from MacPherson's book on the Swifts. .
