Here is my latest build I thought I would share as I am very excited about this one.

Diemaco C8 clone. Lightweight 14.5" hammer forged barrel. Large forward assist. A1 fixed carry handle sights.

As far as weight .... It is how it should be. Nice and light.

Agreed, that's how they were designed and they carried great. That's what we should have adopted for the entire CF. ONE, not a rifle and a carbine...if you shoot like you mean it you can make the cartridge perform with that barrel as well as the long one. It's still a tiny bullet by comparison to many.

Nice build. To be absolutely period correct (85-90 or so), should have a peel washer instead for the flash suppressor.

To be absolutely period correct

To be absolutely correct...it should be full auto, it should have a serial number like 86AA00950, to be absolutely correct it should have an aluminum butt, to be absolutely correct...please,it looks great.

Be gentle with that one. They weren't exactly durable.

It's a nice build, and very easy to be nit-picky with a clone. "This or that isn't right" As I see it you got the majority of the parts right and where is a tiny market to source these parts I would call it great.

I when I look at a clone, it's a matter of visual and performance, this gun should "clone" a C8 Carbine very well in both those departments.

I think I still have one Thermold magazine body kicking around, I never use it because I don't want to break it, glad I never had to use them professionally.

You didn't miss much. When shooting in the winter in Wainwright, they would come back to the ammo unserviceable but undamaged. I put one down to stomp it to crack it...it exploded...to toothpicks. There, now it won't go back to the line.

I agree. This one looks about spot on. A stainless washer would be window dressing... I sure liked them that way. We should have had that issued 100%. All arms...
