    Need help Identifying Barrel

I have the barrel to what I believe to be an M1917 Rifle. It has Proof bomb, Ordnance eagles but has some strange attachment on the muzzle of the barrel that makes it very difficult to discern, I would greatly appreciate help in this endeavor.

Welcome to the forum. One thing to note is the hole drilled into the shank, like a D and T went too far. The front looks like a muzzle booster.
