Can say with 100% honesty Jeffs work looks way better in person. If you need some thing repaired an do not have the time throw the brother some work..
I can not wait to see an feel it. It goes to show that you can with time repair almost any thing

Very well done indeed - mind me asking, how did you line up the holes for the pins so perfectly? Or did you oversize the holes to allow for error?

On this one I used lines drawn on the side of the two halves together with a straight edge as a guide and eye balled the center when I drilled it. Yes, you need a little slop to allow any extra glue/epoxy to escape the hole and it helps if you were a little off drilling, sure.
In other instances I may use pilot holes and a clipped finish nail as a ersatz dowel center before drilling up to final size.
