    Just picked this up today, has the magazine link loop spreader so is for the Mk1 SMLE.

    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.  Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle.     Very nice...but that's not for common issue? Surely not for the morning kit layout? I'm sure that would be on a very limited scale of issue...very nice though.

    Neat, never seen one like that before, the average squaddie was certainly not allowed to remove the mag link, some thing like that would be for armourers only I suppose.

    The most common one is the one made by Central, quite large quantities of which were sold off here some years ago.

    I had a Central made one but sold it to GDU who found this one for me, sold it to him for about a 5th of the price i paid for this one, that does not mean i paid a huge amount for the early one just that i sold Greg my Central one cheap
