    Czech 98/22 handguard compatibility

I have a Czechicon 98/22 and I'm missing the handguard. I can't seem to find one labeled as such, does anyone know which other handguards will fit this? Thanks in advanced

Numrich does not have them cross referenced with anything else so might be rifle specific. I would think other Mauser handguards might be able to be altered to fit. You just need to figure out which one.

This may be of little help, but...

Comparing the Persian 98-29 and Turk 98-22 side-by-side, the handguards appear to be identical in overall dimension. However, the lower band on the Persian is flat and a bit wider, and the wood is relieved accordingly.

Checking another 98-22, I discover that it has a replacement handguard. It's about 1/2 inch longer and retains the faint impression of a lower band in front of the installed band.

Sorry I can't identify the rifle from which it came, but my first suspect would be one of the South American long rifles. It does not appear to be from a Turkishicon 1903.

Hmm. Thanks for the replies. I ordered a Mauser book, so hopefully it can help me look and compare. I was curious if the Germanicon gews woulda work, as I read a lot of these 98/22s were produced with ww1 surplus parts
