Warped stock on Enfield Jungle Carbine

Hello, I'd like to determine my options for correcting the warped stock on this Jungle Carbine. I don't expect 1 moa accuracy, but the pressure that the stock is placing on the left side of the barrel is quite obvious at the range. The former owner pushed the front sight all the way to the left, presumably to compensate for this issue. Tonight I obtained a four inch group at 25 yards. If I can obtain a four inch group at 100 yards I'd be thrilled. Even if I can't correct the stock, this is a nice carbine and is fun to shoot, so I prefer to avoid any drastic measures, but I appreciate any advice you can provide.

I´ve converted a few No 4 fore-ends to No 5s, and have found that best results are obtained by free floating the fore-end from the knox form forward. The No 5 fore-end is slimmer and does tend to warp. On the other hand, the barrel is shorter and and is therefore less prone to resonance. Think it must be accepted that a No 4 will always be more precise. You might be able to re-seat the action slightly (and maybe remove a minute amount of the offending wood from the fore-end) to obtain a free-floating barrel.

Is the stock warped or is it not sitting in the draws correctly? By that I mean is the right hand draw area a tad |(technical term) longer and pushing the stock to the left?

If your fore-end can't be rectified by slightly adjusting the back end (- by swinging it around about the front trigger guard screw axis) as Aussie 48 suggests, I think that amount of warp could be taken out by a competent woodworker or the like. It's different when it's twisted in two planes but it looks like yours is just twisted to the left.

But remember this. It's wood and the warp WILL eventually return albeit eventually - however long that is!

The wood and barrel are straight on the one I have. It’s the body/receiver that’s bent.

I'd shoot it first and wouldn't take the previous owner's zeroing too seriously. Perhaps he was using the center eye in his forehead to aim...shoot it and see.
