    The grip has a different checkering pattern than the Mk4 grip.



    I have been looking for an un-bobbed Mk3 grip for years.

    It doesn't have the patent markings box, could it be an early aluminum grip?

    I remember reading something about an aluminum grip getting very hot.

    Funny how it has two shades and what looks like it could be a pin.

    No mysteries chaps, it's an early Mk3 grip. I think that they were made by a small plastics firm in Rainham (?) who did stuff for Ford but when the big orders for the guns came in, they couldn't meet demand so they went to Helix Plastics

    I remember Helix. One of our teachers in boarding school had a large old wooden ruler he used on the palms of our hands. We called it “getting the Helix.”
