    Unusual Bore inspection tool.

    Hi,

Any Idea what this thing is for?
Cannot be used in a rifle so I'm picking spare barrels or another 303 type gun.

    Found this

    http://www.themilitariadealers.com/viewitem.php?id=916

    And this

WW2 RAF BATTLE OF BRITAIN .303 inspection Bore for Fighter plane guns. (10/23/2012)

Appears it is for inspecting bores on 303 Vickers Machine guns, as fitted to RAF aeroplanes.

What is the view like up a barrel with this device? Any magnification? Focus adjustment? Odd that it is described as a "mirror" when it is plainly a periscope.

Despite Wray holding contracts for Head Up Display optics, Kershaws never made any and ultimately lost the business which was quite short-sighted of the Rank Organisation.
Wonder who got that job then, and how!?
