A dead American soldier lies in the foreground as his comrades dash across an open space to escape enemy sniper fire. The town eventually fell to Infantry and tanks of the 6th Armored Division. Oberdorla, Thuringia, Germanyicon. 14 April 1945.

Infantry men of 'B' Company, 44th Armored Infantry Battalion, 6th US Armored Division while crossing the street, pass the body of Pfc.
