MG42 Ammo Cans & Spare Barrel Holders. Wartime production & Post War examples.

Does anyone know if there are any subtle differences between wartime produced ammo cans and spare barrel cases for the MG42 and the same items made post war, please, ignoring any markings that may or may not be be present? I was wondering if there is any slight differences in the metalwork? The reason I say ignore any markings is because I'm not 100% convinced that any markings present are all genuine original, on items for sale, and such markings would be easy to add much later. The paint finish/colour is another thing that doesn't mean much because, obviously, it can easily be changed. It is often stated that Yugoslaviaicon, Post war, reused/refurbished many wartime MG42 ammo cans and spare barrel cases as well as making new ones of their own.

I also don't wish to scrape off paint from my Yugo painted kit just on the off chance that there could be Germanicon markings underneath and this is another reason why I say ignore any markings.
