We did all sorts of repairs. From a simple repair or replacement of a damaged butt plate or pad to a complete nuts and bolts factory repair at Base Workshop level. But at Base workshop, they went out like new. No khaki paint, totally rebuilt, phosphate and black oven bake paint. Woodwork was subject to constant wet/dry, hot and even hotter. It was relentless

Well, this one was either green painted after the repair or was never brought to a base workshop. There is no parkerizing on it. Just green paint and black oxide. Is there a current source for the green paint?

It was probably overpainted green after it'd been through the Base workshop. The black oxide you speak of will be phosphate and paint. On ops they just sploshed them over in khaki/mid bronze green vehicle paint as a general rule with a few dobs of yellow sploshed on for good measure.

Didn't last long on anything. If ever there was a location in this world of ours, where you could test anything to destruction and be assurred if it survived it must be manufactured to a high standard, thats the jungle environment.Its one extreme to the other, soaring heat to downpours from nowhere, to bugs that eat absolutely anything including IR paint. To use a weapon in that environment it was a constant cleaning regime..........a real pain!
If you have ever seen a plane that has has crashed and been in a jungle location for a number of years, you will see bear wire where there once was covering, paint on fuselages that could withstand freezing temperature.............gone eaten by various indestructable mites!
Amazing and very dangerous environment.

Shoots fine other than the RG '45 is almost 100% "click-bang". Recoil is not nearly as bad as people have made out. Not much worse than a short FAL or M1A
. Rear of forearm is cracked all the way through in front of the metal band. Need to find or make a replacement for shooting.

I don't understand where your fore-end is cracked from and to but no need to find a replacement or find a good used one. It will be a very simple repair. Then insert a couple of oak pegs to reinforce it and make good. Done it a thousand times. Do it properly as detailed elsewhere here somewhere and it will outlast you and your kids
