Last Saturday I tested a new reload with my K98icon. I got results comparable, if not even a tad better, than with N140 from Vihtavuori.
    I used Lovex S060-2, 44 grains.
OAL 81,0 mm, as always on my K98.
Primers WLR and brass from Hornady. 3rd or 4th time shot.
Until I got tired, I could hit with all rounds in the bullseye at 100 m.
Relatively cheap bullets also. S&B FMJBT, 196 grains.
I did not expect these results, so I'll try again, hopefully this week.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Today I tested the reload described above again, with some more attention.
Actually it seems to be matching the original military loads.
I shot 2 inches high at 100 meters with the rear sight at 100, perfectly on target at 200 with the rear sight at 200.
It has been a real fun shooting the shortie today.
