    16-319 Garand Picture of the Day - 70th Infantry Division



    Germanicon soldiers carry wounded comrades to a POW collection area under the escort of U.S. Army soldiers of the 70th Infantry Division (”Trailblazers”), Seventh United Statesicon Army, Army, 6th Army Group, following the American capture of the town of Wingen-sur-Moder, the site of a minor but strategically important battle between German and American forces. Wingen-sur-Moder, Alsace-Champagne-Ardenne-Lorraine (Grand Est), Bas-Rhin, Franceicon. 7 January 1945.

    Is that a tank next top the pole under cover and keeping the engine warmed up are those 2 road wheels and a possible barrel level with the front GI's helmet! or some poor GI's just trying to keep warm......!
