R marked 03 band
This band is "R" marked on the starboard side, is it a repro? A bayonet works on it.Attachment 77334 Thanks for looking.

Remington made parts were commonly stamped with an "R".

I was looking at the radius at the top of the barrel and also where it meets the handgaurd and wondered why the relief is larger than the others I have seen. It looks smart compared to the others IMO because it is not tight against the barrel, Thanks for the reply.

Looks fake to me. I would post pictures but don't know how on this site. If it was gunboards it is easy.

Thats what I think, because I don't have another R marked example to compare it to do not know for sure. I just thought that maybe someone would be able to identify or confirm from past experience with a repro part. With the exception of the radius, the domed shape where the screw goes through is opposite the H marked ones that I have. The one pictured has the dome on the threaded side and the process used to finish the lugs that support the stacking swivel have been ground a little more flat vs. round like others I compared to. They all attract a magnet as well as the other but the one in question just seems a little "different" Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the input, I'm sure its a knock off. The R is not as deeply struck and the bolster where the screw goes through is completely wrong. Also the lug for the bayonet has no milling marks on the bottom making me think its cast. The inside radius also appears to be relieved way to much compared to the examples provided. I'm not even going to pull it off to compare the inside until I find a replacement. On second thought I'm getting that thing off now. Thanks for the help.
