RPD belt loading

Got an RPD (DSA semi auto) the other day, just needed another belt feed for the collection. Loading the belts ruins fingers quickly, so I cobbled together a loader that makes the process a bit easier. I made it from scraps of wood around my shop and a cheap hinge. So far it works as I hoped, loading 3 rounds into the belt at a press. Could probably do 5 rds at a time but have not tried it yet. While I know this board is 99% serious collectors and 1% collectors for fun, I offer to post pictures and maybe a pdf of the plan if anyone in the 1% wants it. Not something for those who have full auto, but for semi will work fine.

Will post a review of the gun when I get some range time with it. Also building a transit chest that would have been appropriate for the time of the introduction of the RPD. Made from ply and 1X2 with few frills but durable enough for the commissar in any case. According to many sources it was introduced and used in the closing of WWII. I will have to review all those documentary films to see if I can spot one.

I have a finish Maxim belt loader I picked up recently for my collection.

Although designed for the closed pocket belts of the Maxim, I am sure it would also work with open pockets belts as well?
They are emerging onto the market in small numbers here & there. I feel a LARGE chunk of these releases will find their way to the US Market?.......

They are cheap enough, sturdy. & I am of the opinion, they would work well for shooters. who need lots of ammo belts to use!

it MIGHT be worth considering one of these perhaps? Usually come in a small wood transit box with leather handle. Come with everything needed to use. Including some hex head wood screws to mount on a Log/ Table in the field. Nicely made of good quality, as was the 'Norm' back in the day! Will last a lifetime in usage, as very simplistic in design.
