Welcome to the forum nice rifle you can embark on quite a journey chasing the marks/stampings on the old girls it is a very rewarding pass time there is plenty of threads on the site also lots of chaps with excellent knowledge and records of these ol' girls have fun.

In the absence of other markings indicating a factory thorough repair, it looks like it has been re wooded post service. The sharp edges look to be rounded, being a dead giveaway of it having been sanded and refinished. The rear sight protector is on backwards too.
No reason not to enjoy a very tidy rifle though. Learn from it and have fun while you go.
