    Colt SP 1

I just picked up this rifle from a good friend of mine. According to the serial # it's a 1975 SP 1, shoots very well and I'm very pleased with it.

A friend of mine got one way back in the end of the '70s and procured a case of M193 through a couple of dope deals in the CDN army. He said although the rifle was nothing special, it would shoot little tiny rat holes with the M193...and so it should. Nothing wrong with that rifle.
    Regards, Jim

I have not verified it yet but someone told me today that Colt is doing a limited edition retro SP!/ M16icon type rifle. I did notice Troy is doing an XM177e1 type retro.

They are very good rifles. I have a couple from the 1970s. They came with two 20 round magazines, cleaning kit
and green military sling. I used to sell lots of this model, the days when colt was one phone call away to fill orders
to their distributors. I used to get real good response from their Rep in Winnipeg, Man. Found some new colt 3x scopes
in a box from those days. Put them with the rifles that can only go to a range instead of the Bush like the old days

As a child when me and the fella's played army I used a stick for my m16 and took out a number of the enemy in the jungle (woods) behind my grandmothers house.lol
I've owned many guns as a grown man and shot 600yd competition with a .308 (and won) but this is my first AR. I got a pretty good deal own it, for the gun,3 30rd mags and a cloth gun case I paid $500.00 for it all.

BTW- My best 100yd 3 shot group so far (been to the range twice) has been 1 3/4in with American eagle 55gr. fmj. Open sites can be alittle tuff on 51yr old eyes!
