A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I have Springfield serial number 1373022 with a star mark on the muzzle too, my barrel is dated S A 7-29. After you remove the handguard, there should be a star gage card number in front of
the rear sight base stamped on the barrel, mine is l over 554 and my barrel heat lot number is C 128. John Beardicon who is a noted 1903 expert and author, told me that my rifle was a 1931 National
Match rifle but never sold out of service, therefore there are not any records of sale.

Also of interest, I have another Springfield 1903 serial number 1321534 with a S A 7-29 dated barrel but without any Nation Match markings

It is in a "nest" of NM rifles and your rifle may have been not sold after National Matches - no match in sales records. Pictures would help.

I'll try to get around to it over the next week or so.

No match - there are few SRS records in that serial range.
