Exclamation Warning .. Ross Rifle web site infected with malware ....

    Warning ....

We've been receiving several emails from our members, that as of the date and time of posting this thread, the Ross Rifle web site is infected with malware ....

Besides members trying to email their site admin, we also tried ourselves to contact them and find out if they indeed had a problem, but never received a reply.

So, we decided to check it ourselves and the pics below show the results.

    Thanks for the update ...

Being the 3rd incident reported to us in 18 months, I sure hope they can create a more defensible environment in the future...

When I went to Milsurps on my phone recently I got a warning message that the site certificate was invalid and I should not proceed.

Any cause for concern? My security settings are just "normal".

I use an iPhone (and iPad) with Safari, plus a few other 3rd party browsers for them. I haven't seen that message on them.

Remember, we're now an SSLicon encrypted web site... more here:

Security Improvements - January 2017 Update

So, your phone's Internet browser needs to support several security protocols and their associated certificates to handle that capability.

Also, in some cases, people use 3rd party app browsers on their phones and tablets that aren't supplied by the original phone manufacturer.

I don't know what your circumstances are, but regardless, I would suggest your safe bypassing the message.

For privacy, if you want to PM me more details I'll look into the specifics for you.

    Regards,
    Doug

I did have a few problems logging onto the Milserps site when I first started using my current internet provider which turned out to be caused by the "default settings" which can be changed by the customer. The provider had blocked weapons and violence access to the net as one of the "default settings" and once this had been switched to allow access everything worked fine. I wasn't told of this when I went with the provider and it took some head scratching before I figured out why access was blocked to the Milserps site.

I don't think this is Surpmil's issue, but it's an excellent point. I had forgotten that a LOT of internet providers and also private companies through their internal firewalls, block access to gun related sites such as ours.

I thought that I was going to have to change internet providers and I wasn't at all happy until I had worked out what the problem was.
