That would work fine, I was thinking that very thing...I have a spare here but it wouldn't be worth doing a deal as you can get them cheaper where you are. Probably...

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. How much do they run you there? Here one that is WW1 vintage and in decent shape will be over $100...at least from what I have seen.

Here if you find them, a WW1 can be $175CDN or so. Most of them are really rough shape. A WW2 marked is just a bit less and many times they're missing one or both keepers and the short end is about to crack in half. The one I have is a post WW2 because there's no date, came in the mil package with the number inside. I suspect new for RVN rebuilds. No date, cheaper money. Before that I had to settle for a Brownells leather sling for $100CDN after delivery. I wanted one that wouldn't break. If you're interested, PM me and maybe we can do something...pics and all...
    Regards, Jim

I don't know, nor can I find anyone that does. I even sent a pic of it to Bruce Canfield...all he could say was that he had never seen that before.
