Funny thing every eye is different I find arms development quite interesting to follow I guess cases like the Gatling gun look how it morphed into the mini gun of today, The Paris cannon in WWI, Gustav - Dora 80cm rail guns WWII, the MP-40 that could shoot round corners in WWII originally designed so the tankers could sweep the tank decks free of Russianicon tank destroying infantry I mean the Germans in WWII also had the first anti ship rocket launched from a submerged U-Boat, radio controlled rocket powered aerial anti shipping bomb, the WWII magnetic, acoustic, Magnetic/Acoustic, then there was the WWII Germanicon George mine with the first printed electric boards inside plus photo electric sells in the tail the only way into the mine the aerial German mines dropped on Britainicon on it goes. I guess there are times when the armourers among the fraternity cursed the inventors of the weapons but how they design them is quite fascinating.
Bit like a car I suppose throw the motor on the ground then build the car around it with scant regard for the poor mechanic who has to work on the thing later.

I could have looked at the Vickers for hours BD6

Have you ever seen one of the super rare bayonets that the Germans designed and made at the end of WW2 which had a "Swissicon Army" style multi tool concealed in the handle, CINDERS? I've only ever seen pictures of this item and have never seen one in the flesh; it would be like the Holy Grail of bayonets to own.

I forget the correct wartime name for this Bayonet. But INTERARMS supplied a LOT post-war for the Sudanese AR10 Rifles in 7.62mm.
These Bayonets are clearly marked on the metal spine with the Interarms trade mark.

F10 we live in the back end of the world stuff like that would never make it to our shores, but you know the funny thing is the world is discovering Aus and its not such a bad joint even though we have a good smattering of things that will kill you like the White pointer capital of the world that was not a good'un......
I would surely like to see one of those bayonets perhaps Geoff Smith may have seen one I will endeavor to drop him an e mail and ask him

Those are the ones we're used to seeing them with too. It's a hard to find accessory.

Working from memory and if I recall correctly it looked similar to a standard K98icon bayonet but it had a combination tool contained/concealed within it's handle. Perhaps someone is able to post some pictures of one, please???

Thanks for finding that information, Mike, it's certainly an ingenious design of bayonet.
