About a week ago I was flipping through channels and saw Starsky & Hutch chasing down a guy on foot who was carrying an M1icon carbine. It went on for several minutes, and here I am trying to see what kind of front band and rear sight it has on it. Wish that TV had the "freeze" option like our other one. The outcome was the guy climbed up on a tower and of course they went after him. When the guy dropped, or threw the carbine off the tower, I was trying to figure out how to catch it! Don't even remember if the bad guy fell or jumped, but the carbine was probably a real one, and not a prop. Maybe a $150 gun (at the time) but now in the neighborhood of $1000. It still could be laying at the bottom of that tower rusting away. - Bob

I do the same thing when catching a peek of a carbine on tv........
There was a show on 5-6 years ago called I believe Jericho (sp?) one guy had a carbine that was missing the rear sight, he was one of the *Stars*

I found it!!!! Way down this page.

Jake with a M1icon carbine, LOOK it's a Hi wood narrow band and like I remember NO REAR SIGHT.

    Just for laughs,

We carried 2 Carbine's on our Assault Craft. Main reason was that they were shorter then an M-14 and easier to manuver. Also had 4 Ma Duces, one at each corner.

The first Apocalypse was OK in the beginning. That crap they showed up river was a joke. No one in our boat unit did drugs while making a run. Some did on R&R. Recreational choice was beer.

Made the mistake in a Taiwan bar of teasing some Aussie in shorts. So, after the fight, we all sat there and had more beer.

I believe you. My entertainment was when the 18/19 yr olds were unloading brass faster than LC could make it...

Our lazarette was full of ammo, plenty for a busy day. But I'm sure Lake City loved our usage.

And rolling through it with those .50s will sure suppress the crap out of bystanders.

If you want to hit someone grab that M14icon. If you want to scare the crap out of someone use the M2.

The movie was an insult to anyone who served there. It was rumor about a first cav renegade named Maj Stockton who bent every rule and turned it into his little game. They actually got rid of him after the fight at Chu Pong in 1965. Like a playboy bunny is going to hang around one of those putrid SF camps for fun. You could smell them miles away. Put 1,000 mercenaries and they families onto a few acres and let them stay there for months, it smelled awful. And a boat crew is going to go native at the drop of a hat??
