I think its economiclly viable to reproduce stock wood sets if manufacturers were realistic in thier expectations in terms of profit and understood the market. But its the same as spares market. They mostly think of the bottom line and it never occures to them to idividualise thier product lines to carve out niche markets. Thats why there are barrels of parts worth no more than scrap value until you show an interest then that one part seems to be worth gold. they dont understand thier market I almost dont want anybody with that mentality to start reproducing woos sets. It would ruin the market for anybody else. I'm not attacking Boyds or SARCO. I'm just saying....

ATI and Ramline currently make sporter stocks for No.1's and No. 4's.

How hard would it be to make full length forends/handguards/proper buttstocks for Lee Enfields?

They could be done in olive drab, brown, or black... I know plastic/nylon aren't as inflexible as wood, but...

    Thoughts?

I'd prefer wood as well, but since that seems to have all but dried up, a composite stock may start looking better as time goes by.
