BSA Miniature Riflle No2 Cadet and Scout Pattern

    Greetings.

Wondering if anyone has any information on these rifles, particularly use by Australianicon armed forces?

I have come across one in a local store and immediately put it in laybuy. It appears to be in original condition with matching bolt and stock. It also has a great set of cartouche marks on the stock including serial number, 5 MD and sold out of service marks.

I have however, not been able to find much on them other than that they existed. Most of my efforts come up with the war office pattern miniature rifles, where as this "Cadet Scout Pattern" is maybe more a civilian orientated firearm that has been picked up for military use???

    Thanks in advance

    BSA cadet and scout No2

    G'day,
Can't say I know much about them being just a civilian issue. I've owned 2 of them in the last 10 years. The first one had no markings on it. The second one which I have used in SSAA events has D arrow D, 2 over 99, and sold out service stamps on the stock and action. I guess it was acquired by the Military just prior to or during WW2 as a trainer for Aussie troops. I base this on the number of 32-20 Winchesters with acceptance stamps. They are cracking shooters and have a great little rear sight.
