2nd from the left is the PH sight Brian is referring to, the 2nd from the right is a Fazakeley off a No.8

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Muffet 2008:

Are you referring to the picture you posted? Correct me if I am in error but the two middle leafs both appear to be L81A1 of P-H manufacturer.

The No8 rifles I have, One Fazakerly and one BSA, both have .22 cal leafs, which have entirely different range markings than the 2 middle leafs you show, and neither have any allowance for windage. The range markings are 25, 50, 100 y and one high mark "H" which is for some kind of special gallery target. The L81A1 sight will not fit without modification.

In so far as I can tell, other than rifles fitted with target sights, all rifles shipped with that sight.

If I am in error please feel free to correct me.

You still see them around for sale as a special match rifle...target grade...

Frederick, you got me there, the wife is always telling me to put my glasses on.
Here is a pic of the 22 marked sight, this one is as issued, but I have one with the peep machined off and fitted to the base as depicted before.
Here are a couple of other ones for the L81A1 by Alfred Parker, 2 different styles of the Regent.

I like the Regent sight, had a chance to pick one up and didn't, now I regret it.
