    Dewat Vickers

I am going to significantly downsize my collection and am scratching my head on a few items. DEWAT Vickers, in its wooden chest, with as best I can tell all little do-dads and gadgets, have to search for the hose though. Has a certificate of deactivation from 1997, states country of origin is Australiaicon but I'll be darned if I can find a maker's mark on it. Anyway, it is in nice clean shape. The bolt face is ground, sear has been ground and welded, no god-awful external weld marks like on some horror shows I have seen, cocking lever moves. I haven't seen one for sale in Canadaicon for a while--any ideas on current values in Canada?

    Thx

    Ed

@ 6 years ago a sectionized one was sold to a dealer here in W.A for $12.000/AU

I may add that this gun was complete with everything the crew would need to set it up for action with all accessories, not just a Vickers in a transit case

Only other thing close was an MG '08 that lived in AB some years back...was going to be sold for $10,000 asking. It was marked to the 10th Calgary as well... Not many seem to change hands. Collector Source might be about the only people to handle one.

Collectors Source actually has a couple of nice sled mounted 08's now at varying prices. HAven't seen a Vickers in a long while though in Canadaicon at least, and since I acquired this one through a convoluted multi-pronged multi-item trade I'm trying to sort out what to sell it for. Maybe I will just take a WAG and list it!

You could always put a moderately high asking negotiable to give wriggle room for the buyer the bottom line being what you want for it, you could send an e mail to Barry Lathwell from Barry's Firearms in Perth West Au and ask him as he deals in that stuff I mean he has a shop full of it has a 25pdr and 2pdr A/T gun in his back yard at home also his shop is just chock full with gear. They just do not come up for sale.
